Gear Review: Leus Yoga Towel for Studio and Beach Sessions

Rolling up a yoga mat by hand, the kind of studio or beach yoga session a Leus yoga towel is used for. Stock photo courtesy of GoDaddy Stock Photos.

A lot of surfers are turning to yoga for the flexibility and shoulder mobility work that paddling never quite covers, and the Leus yoga towel has become part of that routine for a few of our contributors. It’s from the same range we covered in our Best Eco-Friendly Beach Towels post, but it’s worth a dedicated look for anyone using it specifically for studio or beach yoga sessions.

The towel’s grip improves once it’s slightly damp, which makes it a solid mat cover for a sweaty studio class, and the same absorbency that makes it good at the beach means it soaks up sweat without bunching up mid-session. It’s compact enough to roll up inside a yoga mat bag alongside a change of clothes.

We’ve also used it for beach yoga sessions at sunrise, laid flat under a mat for grip on sand, which is a genuinely nice way to start a morning before the surf picks up.

Leus towels are made from a recycled cotton blend and are available at leustowels.com.au, with code THANKSLEGEND good for 40% off.

Who Should Get the Leus Yoga Towel?

Anyone splitting their week between the surf and a yoga mat will get plenty of use out of this one. The Leus yoga towel handles sweat as well as it handles saltwater, and it’s compact enough that there’s no excuse not to throw it in the bag alongside your mat.
